When assigning page-specific Open Graph images in Framer, Facebook frequently ignores the custom image and instead pulls the site-wide default OG image. This occurs with both JPEG and PNG formats.
Currently, the only reliable workaround is to manually inject custom meta tags on each affected page, such as:
<meta property="og:image" content="[image-url]" />
After doing so, the page must also be manually re-scraped using Facebook’s Sharing Debugger tool before the correct image appears.
Additionally, Framer’s Meta Check tool (https://www.framer.com/meta-check) reports that the correct image is being detected, even when Facebook is clearly rendering the wrong image in production. This creates a disconnect between Framer’s validation tooling and real-world behavior across major social platforms.
Ideally:
Page-level OG images should override global OG images consistently
CMS page OG images should be reliably exposed to crawlers
Framer’s Meta Check tool should more accurately reflect what platforms like Facebook are actually parsing
